# ConvertPilot AI: full index ConvertPilot AI is an AI customer service chatbot and live chat with a shared inbox, built by Dude Lemon LLC (founded 2017, US). Site: https://convertpilotai.com. Console: https://convertpilot.dudelemon.cloud/login. ## What it does ### One inbox: Every channel in one place, one thread per customer. Website chat, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS arrive as conversations in a single list. Open, pending, snoozed, closed, spam and archived are one click apart, and every message the AI or a teammate sends is in the same thread. - **Unified conversations.** One thread per customer across channels, with the channel shown on each message. Reply on the website, by email or on the channel the customer used. - **Statuses, assignment and priority.** Open, pending, snoozed, closed, spam, archived. Assign to a teammate, set priority from low to urgent, snooze for an hour or until tomorrow morning. - **Currently viewing.** See the page the visitor has open while they type, so the reply matches what they are looking at. - **Attachments with a security scan.** Customers can send photos and documents. Every file is scanned before anyone on your team opens it. - **Internal team chat.** Direct messages and groups for your team, in the same app, so a question about an order is one click from the order. - **Notifications and digests.** Email alerts for new messages, a daily AI suggestion digest, and a digest of unread and assigned conversations. ### AI agent: Answers grounded in your store, with the reasoning attached. The agent reads your site, catalogue and recent orders, follows the rules you write, and shows its work. It answers the routine, captures the lead, and steps aside the moment a person joins. - **Grounded replies.** Answers come from your pages, products, orders, knowledge base and rules, not from a generic model guessing. - **Why this reply.** Every AI message opens a trace: what it remembered about the customer, the sources it used, and which of your rules applied. - **Training rules.** Teach exact answers with trigger and response pairs for the questions that must always be answered one way. - **Knowledge base and custom instructions.** Add facts, policies and tone. The agent uses them on every channel. - **Human handoff.** The agent pauses when a teammate joins or when you switch it off for a conversation, and it asks for a person itself when a customer does or when a reply would break one of your rules. - **Live translation.** Detects the customer’s language, replies in it, and shows your team a translation of every message. - **Spam and scam flags.** Messages that look like spam or a scam are flagged before they cost your team time. - **Self-writing FAQ.** The agent drafts FAQ entries from the questions customers actually ask; you approve and publish them with the FAQ embed. ### Commerce: Where is my order, what fits, is it in stock: handled. On Shopify and Wix the agent works from live store data. On any other site it works from your pages and the products you add. - **Order status and tracking.** Looks up the order, reads the fulfilment state and gives the tracking details, without a person. - **Product cards in the chat.** Recommends products as shoppable cards with price, image and a Shop Now button. - **Lead capture.** Captures name, email and phone when the moment is right, and labels the contact for follow-up. - **Contact profiles.** Orders, labels, notes, memories and custom fields on every contact, built up automatically from the conversations. - **AI tagging.** Price objection, high purchase intent, shipping question, sizing and fit: tagged as they happen and synced to your CRM. - **Suggestions.** The assistant thread proposes follow-ups, knowledge gaps to fill and pages to add, with one-click actions. ### Bookings: Appointments booked in the chat, paid with Stripe. For businesses that sell time: services, staff schedules, a booking page and confirmation emails, all inside the same inbox. - **Services and staff.** Define services with duration, price, add-ons and intake questions, assign staff, and set each person’s schedule and time zone. - **Booked from the conversation.** The agent offers slots and confirms the booking in the chat, or sends the customer to your booking page. - **Payments.** Take payment online through your own Stripe account or settle in person. The slot is held while the customer pays, and your cancellation window refunds automatically. - **Day view and details.** A calendar of the day by staff member, with the customer, the service, the payment state and the conversation it came from. - **Booking emails.** Confirmation and reminder emails in your branding, with a live preview before you switch them on. ### Team and setup: Set it up in an afternoon, run it from anywhere. Widget, hours, team, automations and analytics live in Settings. The mobile apps carry the whole inbox. - **Widget customisation.** Launcher, colours, corner style, header title, greeting and popular questions, with a live preview as you edit. A WhatsApp button beside the launcher, and a development mode to stage the widget on a live site without showing it. - **Installation and FAQ embed.** One script tag for the chat, one element for a FAQ section on any page, in sidebar, numbered or card layouts. - **Online hours.** Your live-chat hours per day, in your time zone. Outside them the widget shows your away message; the agent keeps answering what it can. - **Automations by channel.** Per channel: AI replies on or off, and who new conversations are assigned to. - **Analytics.** Conversations, resolution, response times, daily activity, countries, languages, devices and sentiment, on Premium and above. - **Mobile apps.** Native iOS and Android apps with push notifications for new messages and handoffs. ## Channels - **Website live chat** (Free plan and up). Website live chat and the email inbox are on the Free plan, with the full AI answering the first 50 customer messages. Paid plans start at $8.99 a month and remove the message cap. On any other site, paste one script tag from Settings > Installation into your site header. Q: Does the AI answer live chat on its own? A: It answers questions it can ground in your pages, products, orders and training rules, and hands off to your team when it cannot. Every AI reply shows the sources and rules it used. Q: Can my team reply to live chat from their phones? A: Yes. The iOS and Android apps carry the same inbox, with push notifications for new messages and handoffs. ### Shared inbox (https://convertpilotai.com/shared-inbox) One shared inbox for website chat, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS. Assign, snooze, prioritise, and let the AI answer first. Free plan. Q: Which channels arrive in the shared inbox? A: Website live chat and email on every plan. WhatsApp Business, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS on Premium and above. Each conversation shows its channel and stays in one thread per customer. Q: How many team members can use the inbox? A: 5 seats on Free, 10 on Plus, 20 on Premium and 35 on Enterprise. Q: Can we assign conversations and set priorities? A: Yes. Assign to a teammate, set priority from low to urgent, snooze for an hour or until tomorrow morning, and move between open, pending, closed, spam and archived. Q: Does the AI work inside the shared inbox? A: Yes. Training rules, knowledge base, human handoff. Free plan. Q: What does the AI chatbot answer from? A: Your own pages, products, orders and the training rules and knowledge base you write. It does not answer from the open web, and it does not estimate a delivery date it cannot read. Q: Can I see why the AI gave an answer? A: Yes. Every reply opens to the sources it read, the rules it applied and what it remembered about the customer. This is on every plan, including Free. Q: What happens when the chatbot cannot answer? A: It hands off to your team. The conversation lands in the shared inbox, marked as a handoff, with the full thread and the reason attached. Q: How much does the AI chatbot cost? A: Free for the first 50 customer messages. Then $8.99 a month for 250 AI replies per 30 days, $17.99 for 1,000 AI replies per 30 days, and $59.99 for 2,000 AI replies per 30 days. No per-reply fee. ### Order tracking (https://convertpilotai.com/order-tracking) An AI that answers where is my order from live store data, shows product cards in the chat, captures leads and tags contacts. Shopify and Wix. Free plan. Q: How does the chatbot know where an order is? A: It reads the order from your store through the Shopify or Wix integration and answers with the status it can see. If tracking is not in the order, it says so rather than guessing. Q: Which stores does order tracking work with? A: Shopify and Wix Stores, through their own APIs. Product and order answers are available on every plan. Q: Can it recommend products in the chat? A: Yes. It shows shoppable product cards with price and image, chosen from what is actually in stock. Q: Does it capture leads? A: Yes. Contact details captured in a conversation become a contact profile with labels, notes and the AI-detected intent, ready for Klaviyo, HubSpot or Mailchimp on Premium. ### Bookings (https://convertpilotai.com/bookings) A booking chatbot for service businesses. Services, staff and slots set once; appointments booked from the conversation and paid with Stripe. Every plan. Q: Which plan includes bookings? A: Every plan, including Free. Bookings with Stripe payments are not plan-gated. Q: Can customers pay when they book? A: Yes, through Stripe. Connect your Stripe account once and a booking can take payment in the same conversation. Q: Can I set up several staff members and services? A: Yes. Services, staff and their hours are set in the console; the chat offers the slots that are actually free. Q: Do customers get a confirmation? A: Yes. Booking emails go out on confirmation, and your team sees the booking in the day view with the conversation it came from. ## Channel pages ### Website live chat (https://convertpilotai.com/channels/website-chat) The chat widget on your own site. It answers questions on your website chat, email, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS using your own pages, products, orders and rules, captures leads, and hands a conversation to your team the moment it needs a person. **Which platforms does it run on?** Shopify stores install it from the Shopify App Store, Wix sites from the Wix App Market, and any other website adds one script tag for the chat widget. The console, the AI and the mobile apps are the same on every platform. **How does the AI know about my business?** It reads the pages of your website, your product catalogue and recent orders on Shopify and Wix, the facts you add to the knowledge base, your training rules and your custom instructions. Every reply shows which of those it used under "Why this reply". **Does the AI reply on its own?** Yes, within the limits you set. It answers routine questions instantly, stays inside your rules for pricing, shipping, returns and tone, pauses itself when a teammate joins, and asks for a person when a customer does or when an answer would need judgement. You can switch the AI off per channel or per conversation. **What happens when the AI cannot answer?** It captures the visitor’s name and email, tells them a person will follow up, and the conversation lands in the inbox with the full history. Outside your online hours the widget shows your away message so the customer knows when someone is back. **What does the Free plan include?** The full AI agent on website chat and email, training rules, knowledge base, widget customisation, labels, suggestions and five team seats. It covers the first 50 customer messages; after that you pick a paid plan. No card is needed to start. **Can my team answer from their phones?** Yes. ConvertPilot has native iOS and Android apps with push notifications. Every channel, every conversation and the handoff controls are in the app. **Which tools does it connect to?** Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Slack and Zapier on Premium and above, plus Shopify and Wix natively. Captured contacts, labels and conversation intent flow into the tools your team already uses. **Is my customer data used to train AI models?** No. Customer and order data is not used to train models for other merchants. Access tokens are encrypted at rest, data travels over TLS, and account data is purged after uninstall. Details are on the Dude Lemon trust centre. ## Blog ## Best AI chatbots for your website in 2026, ranked by what the price actually includes https://convertpilotai.com/blog/best-ai-chatbots-for-your-website-2026 · 2026-09-15 · How it works Seven AI chatbots for websites compared on one test: the cheapest paid plan that includes the AI replying, with no per-reply fee. Every price read from the vendor’s own page on 15 September 2026. The best AI chatbot for your website in 2026 is the one whose paid plan actually includes the AI replying, at a price you can predict. That sounds obvious. It is not how most of the category is priced. Of the seven products below, four meter the AI separately from the plan, one has no free plan at all, and one deletes your agent if you stop using it for two weeks. Every figure here was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on 15 September 2026, and each page is linked so you can check it. We build ConvertPilot, and it is on this list. We say so up front, we put it first on the test we set, and we say where each of the others is the better choice. If the test were different, the order would be too. > Compare the cheapest plan that includes the AI answering with no per-reply fee. Entry prices are not comparable, because entry plans do not include the same thing. ### The test, and why it is this one A website chatbot in 2026 is bought for one reason: to answer customers without a person doing it. So the number that matters is not the plan price. It is the price at which the AI is actually answering, and whether that price moves when the AI answers more. Four of the seven products below charge for AI replies separately: per conversation, per credit, per outcome or per automated interaction. That makes the monthly bill a function of how well the product works, which is a strange thing to want. The ranking is by the cheapest published plan that includes AI replies at a flat monthly price. Ties are broken by whether there is a real free plan (not a trial), and by whether the AI shows its sources. Nothing here is a judgement of answer quality, which cannot be measured from a pricing page. ### Seven AI chatbots, side by side | Product | Cheapest paid plan | Is the AI included at that price? | Free plan | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | ConvertPilot | $8.99 a month | Yes: 250 AI replies per 30 days, no per-reply fee | Yes: full AI on chat and email for the first 50 customer messages, no card, no expiry | | Intercom | $19 per seat a month (Essential) | No: Fin AI Agent is $0.99 per outcome on top | No: free trial | | Tidio | $29 a month (Starter) | Partly: 50 Lyro AI conversations one-off, then AI billed separately | Yes: 50 conversations and 50 AI conversations, one time | | Chatbase | $40 a month (Hobby) | Metered: 700 message credits | Yes: 50 credits a month; agent deleted after 14 days inactive | | Gorgias | $40 a month (Starter, with AI Agent) | Limited: then $1.50 per automated interaction | No: free trial | | Crisp | $45 a month per workspace (Mini) | Partly: $5 of AI credits included | Yes: chat only, no AI credits, no email inbox | | tawk.to | Free live chat | No: AI Assist is a paid add-on | Yes: live chat is free forever | Prices as published on each vendor’s pricing page on 15 September 2026, monthly billing where a toggle existed. Gorgias Starter is the helpdesk plus the AI Agent add-on. Intercom Essential shows $19 on its page with $29 struck through. Read the third column before the second. Intercom’s $19 looks like the second cheapest until you notice the AI is a separate $0.99 per outcome. Gorgias’s $40 includes a limited number of automated interactions and then charges $1.50 for each one beyond it. Tidio gives fifty AI conversations once, then bills AI separately from human conversations. Only two products on the list put a fixed number of AI replies inside a flat price: ConvertPilot and, at the credit level, Chatbase. ### 1. ConvertPilot: the AI is inside the price ConvertPilot has four flat plans. Free runs the full AI on website chat and email for your first 50 customer messages, with no card and no expiry. Plus is $8.99 a month for 250 AI replies per 30 days and no cap on customer messages. Premium, $17.99, adds WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, an SMS number and 1,000 AI replies. Enterprise is $59.99 for 2,000. There is no per-reply fee on any plan. Two things the others on this list do not publish. Every AI reply opens to a Why this reply trace: the pages, products, orders and rules it used. And the AI answers from your own store data through Shopify and Wix, so it reads the actual order rather than guessing at a delivery date. When it cannot answer, it hands off to the shared inbox with the thread attached. Where it is the wrong choice. If you need a visual chat-flow builder, a visitor list with proactive triggers, or the app ecosystem of a large helpdesk, the products below have those and ConvertPilot does not. It is built for a store or service business that wants the AI answering on every channel from day one, at a price that does not move. ### 2. Tidio: the closest comparison, with the AI metered Tidio is the product most people will compare against, and for good reason: a free plan, a shared inbox, live chat, and Lyro, its AI agent. The free plan gives 50 billable conversations and 50 Lyro conversations, one time. Starter is $29 a month for 100 billable conversations with the same 50 Lyro conversations one-off; beyond that, the page says you pay separately for AI and human conversations. Growth starts at $59, Plus at $300. Tidio wins on Flows, its visual automation builder for proactive chat, and on the size of its integrations catalogue. If you want a chat that pops up on exit intent with a discount, Tidio has a dedicated product for it. The full side-by-side is at ConvertPilot vs Tidio. ### 3. Intercom: the most complete, priced per seat and per outcome Intercom is the reference product in support software, and its pricing page is honest about how it is built: Essential is $19 per seat a month (shown with $29 struck through), and Fin, the AI agent, is $0.99 per resolved outcome on top. Advanced is $85 per seat, Expert $132. WhatsApp and SMS are pay-as-you-go extras. There is no free plan. Intercom wins for a support team that already has seats, wants Fin on top of a full helpdesk, and can absorb a per-outcome bill. For a single store owner, $19 a seat plus $0.99 an answer is a different category of spend from $8.99 flat. ### 4. Chatbase: an agent builder first Chatbase prices everything in message credits: 50 a month free, 700 on Hobby at $40, 4,000 on Standard at $150, 15,000 on Pro at $500. The helpdesk, voice and telephony start at Standard. The free plan’s condition is worth reading: AI agents are deleted after 14 days of inactivity. Chatbase wins for a team that wants to build and tune the agent in detail, with actions and voice, and treats support as one of several jobs for it. Compared at ConvertPilot vs Chatbase. ### 5. Gorgias: the ecommerce helpdesk, billed per ticket Gorgias is the deepest Shopify helpdesk on the list. With the AI Agent toggled on, Starter is $40 a month billed monthly (the helpdesk at $10 plus the AI Agent at $30); Basic is $77 a month billed annually or $90 monthly, with 300 tickets and 30 automated interactions; Pro $471; Advanced $1,227. Past the limits, tickets are $0.36 to $0.40 each and automated interactions $1.50 each. No free plan. Gorgias wins at volume: macros, revenue attribution per ticket, and tiers built for thousands of tickets a month. Compared at ConvertPilot vs Gorgias. ### 6. Crisp: a generous free inbox, without the AI Crisp is free forever for a website chat widget with two seats, a shared inbox and mobile apps. The free plan includes no AI credits and no shared email inbox. Mini, at $45 a month per workspace, adds the email inbox, four seats and $5 of AI credits. Above that, Essentials for the full platform. Crisp wins on breadth: campaigns, a knowledge base product, a CRM and chat SDKs for native apps, all in one suite. Compared at ConvertPilot vs Crisp. ### 7. tawk.to: free live chat, AI as an add-on tawk.to is the free-forever live chat, and it genuinely is free for live chat. Its AI, called AI Assist, is a paid add-on rather than part of the plan, and the page describes it as answering from the knowledge base you build. It is on this list because it is the answer to “what if I only want chat,” and it is last because the test is about the AI. ### How to choose, in three questions 1. Will the AI answer most of your questions? If yes, pick from the products where the AI is inside the plan price, because a metered bill grows exactly when the product is working. 2. Do you need a human team in the same inbox? If yes, the pure agent builders are the wrong shape; you want a shared inbox with assignment, priority and handoff, and the AI inside it. 3. Which channels do your customers actually use? Check which plan adds WhatsApp and Instagram. On ConvertPilot that is Premium at $17.99; on Intercom they are pay-as-you-go; on Tidio and Gorgias they sit on higher tiers. If the answer to the first question is yes and you run a store or take bookings, start with the free plan of whichever product you are weighing and ask it your ten most common questions. The one that answers from your actual product and order data, and shows you why, is the one to pay for. That is the whole test, and it takes an afternoon. ### Questions **What is the best AI chatbot for a website in 2026?** On the test of the cheapest paid plan that includes AI replies with no per-reply fee, ConvertPilot ranks first at $8.99 a month with 250 AI replies included. Intercom, Tidio, Gorgias and Crisp all bill the AI separately or in credits on their entry plans, and Chatbase is priced entirely in message credits. A different test, such as helpdesk depth or automation builders, would rank Gorgias or Tidio first. **Is there a free AI chatbot for websites?** Yes, with conditions. ConvertPilot Free runs the full AI on website chat and email for the first 50 customer messages, with no card and no expiry. Tidio Free includes 50 AI conversations one time. Chatbase Free gives 50 message credits a month but deletes the agent after 14 days of inactivity. Crisp Free has no AI credits. tawk.to is free for live chat with AI as a paid add-on. **Why does per-reply AI pricing matter?** Because the bill rises with the product’s success. Intercom charges $0.99 per Fin outcome, Gorgias $1.50 per automated interaction past the plan limit, and Tidio bills AI conversations separately from human ones. A flat plan with a set number of AI replies, such as 250 on ConvertPilot Plus, is a cost you can predict before the month starts. **Which AI chatbot works with Shopify and Wix?** ConvertPilot installs from the Shopify App Store and the Wix App Market and reads products and orders through their APIs on every plan. Gorgias is Shopify-native. Tidio, Crisp, Chatbase and Intercom offer Shopify integrations at various tiers; check each pricing page for which plan includes it. **How current are these prices?** Every figure was read from the named vendor’s pricing page on 15 September 2026, with monthly billing selected where a toggle existed. Pricing in this category changes often; the links in the article go to the pages the numbers came from. ## One inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, email and website chat: how to set it up https://convertpilotai.com/blog/one-inbox-whatsapp-instagram-messenger-email-website-chat-setup · 2026-09-14 · Setup guide The order to connect channels in, the four decisions to make before the AI answers a customer, and the settings most stores get wrong on day one. A store with a website, an Instagram account, a WhatsApp number and an email address has four inboxes, each with its own tab, its own notifications and its own half-remembered conversations. The fix is not another tool with a fifth tab. It is one place where every message lands, one agent that answers the routine, and one profile per customer whichever door they came through. This is the order we recommend for setting that up in ConvertPilot, with the decisions that matter at each step. Website chat and email are on the Free plan; WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS open on Premium. ### Before any channel: four decisions 1. What the agent must never improvise. Returns window, who pays return shipping, discount policy, delivery promises. Write each as a training rule (a trigger and the exact response) so the answer is the same on every channel. 2. What it should know. Sizing notes, materials, opening hours, where you ship. This goes in the knowledge base. The agent also reads your pages, so anything already on the site does not need repeating. 3. When people are available. Live-chat hours per day, in your time zone. Outside them the widget shows your away message; the agent keeps answering what it can, and anything it cannot handle waits in the inbox with the customer’s details. 4. Who gets what. Per channel, whether the agent replies first and who new conversations are assigned to. A store where one person owns Instagram and another owns email can set that once in Automations. ### Step 1: website chat Start with the widget because it is the channel you control end to end. On Shopify and Wix it is installed by the app; anywhere else it is one script tag in the site’s custom code area. Set the launcher colour, the header title, the greeting and three or four popular questions, and watch the live preview as you edit. Then send yourself a message from the site and read the reply, and its trace, before going further. ### Step 2: email Email is connected out of the box: any conversation can be continued by email from the reply box, and replies come back into the same thread. Decide whether email conversations get the agent or go straight to a person. Many stores keep the agent on for website chat, where speed matters most, and let email wait for the team. ### Step 3: WhatsApp Business Connect the WhatsApp Business account with the embedded sign-up in Settings › Channels. Customers write to the number they already have for you, the agent answers, and your team picks up in the inbox or the mobile app. One thing to decide: whether the agent replies first on WhatsApp (it can) or whether the number goes straight to a person. ### Step 4: Messenger and Instagram Connect the Facebook page, then the Instagram account linked to it. Instagram DMs are where product questions arrive as photos and one-line messages (“is it in olive?”), which is exactly where product cards earn their place: the agent answers with the item, the price and a Shop Now button rather than a paragraph. ### Step 5: Telegram and SMS Telegram takes a bot token from BotFather. SMS takes a dedicated number added from Settings, billed per number to the same card as your plan, with an allowance of outbound texts per 30 days by plan. Both arrive as ordinary conversations in the same inbox. ### Then: the settings people skip | Setting | Where | Why it matters | | --- | --- | --- | | Assignment defaults | Automations | Unassigned threads sit. Give each channel an owner. | | Labels | AI settings › Labels | VIP, hot lead, at-risk and your own. The agent applies them; your CRM sync depends on them. | | AI tagging | Integrations › AI tagging | Price objection, purchase intent, shipping question, sizing. Switch on the ones your marketing tool can act on. | | Notifications | Settings › Notifications | New-message emails, the daily suggestion digest, the unread and assigned digest. Pick what you will actually read. | | Translation | Settings › Translation | The language your team reads in. Customers get replies in theirs. | Five settings that decide whether the inbox stays calm after the first week. ### What a good first week looks like - The trace opened on a dozen replies, and one or two rules adjusted because of what it showed. - Every channel with an owner, and no thread older than a day in Unassigned. - A knowledge gap suggestion or two accepted from the assistant thread (it proposes them from the questions customers actually asked). - The mobile app installed by whoever covers evenings. > One inbox is a decision about attention, not software. Connect the channels in the order you can actually staff them, and let the agent take the routine on each one before adding the next. The channels page lists what each channel needs to connect and which plan it is on. The features page shows every screen mentioned here, cut from the real console. ### Questions **Do I need Premium to try the inbox?** No. Website chat and email, with the full agent, are on Free. Premium adds WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram and SMS. **Can the agent be on for some channels and off for others?** Yes. Automations sets, per channel, whether the agent replies first and who new conversations are assigned to. You can also pause it on any single conversation. **What happens to a message that arrives at night?** The agent answers if it can. Anything it cannot handle waits in the inbox with the customer’s details, and outside your online hours the widget shows your away message. **Does my team need the mobile app?** Only whoever covers time away from a desk. It carries every channel, push notifications and the handoff controls, and it is on every plan. ## Where is my order? How an AI agent answers it from live store data https://convertpilotai.com/blog/where-is-my-order-ai-agent-live-store-data · 2026-09-14 · How it works The most common support question a store gets is also the easiest to answer badly. Here is exactly what an AI agent does with it when it can read the order, and what it does when it cannot. Ask a store owner which question they answer most and the answer is some version of where is my order? It arrives on the website chat, in email, in an Instagram DM, in a WhatsApp message at 11pm. Each one takes a person a minute or two to open the orders screen, find the customer, read the fulfilment state and copy the tracking link into a reply. Multiply by every order and it is the job. This post walks through what ConvertPilot does with that question, step by step, with the console in view. The point is not that an AI can write a friendly sentence. It is that the reply comes from the order record, that you can see why the agent said what it said, and that the agent knows when to stop and get a person. ### Step one: the agent reads the order, not a script On a Shopify store, ConvertPilot has access to the last 60 days of orders (Shopify shows this permission before you approve the install). On Wix it reads Wix Stores through Wix’s own APIs. When a customer who has written before asks about an order, the agent looks it up by the email on the conversation, or by the order number if the customer gives one, and reads three things: the items, the fulfilment state, and the tracking details if a shipment exists. The reply is built from that record. In the demo workspace, Sarah Chen asks whether her last order shipped and the agent answers: Your order #10231 (Trail Runner Sneakers, Merino Socks) shipped and is marked fulfilled. A system line above it, Looked up order #10231, is written into the thread so anyone reading it later knows a lookup happened. ### Step two: the trace behind the reply Every AI message in ConvertPilot opens to a panel called Why this reply. For an order question it shows the details of the lookup, what the agent remembered about the customer from earlier conversations, the sources it used (the order, a shipping page it read, a rule you wrote), and the parts of your own setup that shaped the answer. This matters more than it sounds. Support replies get forwarded, screenshotted and argued over. When a customer says “your bot told me it shipped”, the trace is how you check in ten seconds whether it did, and what it was looking at when it said so. It is on every plan, including Free, because a support tool you cannot audit is not one you can trust with customers. ### Step three: the cases the agent does not answer There is no order to read when the customer is writing from a different email than the one they bought with, when the order is older than the window the store shares, or when the question is really a complaint dressed as a status check (“where is my order, this is the second time this has happened”). The agent is written to recognise those, and to do something specific in each. - No matching order. It asks for the order number or the email used at checkout and captures the contact, so a person can pick it up if the customer does not have them. - Outside your rules. If the answer would need a refund, a replacement or an exception to a policy you wrote, it stops and hands the thread to your team with the history attached. The thread shows A human agent has joined the conversation and the agent stays paused until you hand it back. - Frustration. Sentiment is read on every conversation and the agent can label a thread at-risk, so a customer who is losing patience is easy to find rather than getting another cheerful automated line. ### What this looks like across channels The lookup does not care where the question came from. The same order answer goes out on the website widget, by email, on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram or SMS, and the thread lands in one inbox with the channel marked on each message. The customer’s profile carries the orders, the labels the agent applied (VIP, repeat buyer, at-risk) and any notes your team left, so the next question, on whichever channel, starts from the same context. | Situation | What the agent does | What your team sees | | --- | --- | --- | | Order found, fulfilled | Replies with items, state and tracking | System line: looked up order, no action needed | | Order found, not yet fulfilled | Replies with items and the current state; no invented delivery date | The thread, unread badge only if the customer replies | | No order matches the email | Asks for order number or checkout email, captures the contact | Lead captured, thread open for follow-up | | Refund or exception requested | Hands off with the full history | Thread waits for a person, agent paused | | Customer is frustrated | Answers plainly, can label the thread at-risk | At-risk label and negative sentiment in the analysis panel | How an order question is handled, by situation. The agent never invents a delivery date it cannot read. ### Setting it up 1. Install from the Shopify App Store or the Wix App Market, or paste the widget script on any site. On a plain site the agent answers from your pages and knowledge base rather than an order feed. 2. Write the rules that must never vary: your returns window, who pays return shipping, what to say about delays. Training rules are trigger and response pairs; the knowledge base holds the facts. 3. Set your online hours. Outside them the widget shows your away message, and the agent keeps answering order questions from the record. 4. Open the trace on the first few replies. If something in your setup produced an answer you do not like, the panel tells you which rule or page to change. > The measure of an order-status agent is not how often it answers. It is how often it answers from the record, and how cleanly it steps aside when there is no record to answer from. Every screen in this post is in the product tour, cut from the real console. The Free plan includes the order lookup, the trace and the handoff on website chat and email. ### Questions **Does the agent need the customer’s email to find an order?** It looks up by the email on the conversation first. If the customer wrote from a different address, or on a channel without one, it asks for the order number or the checkout email once and captures the details for your team. **Can it give a delivery date?** Only what the order record and the carrier tracking show. It does not estimate dates that are not in the data. **What about orders older than 60 days on Shopify?** The Shopify permission covers the last 60 days. For older orders the agent captures the details and hands the thread to your team. **Is the trace available on the Free plan?** Yes. “Why this reply” is on every plan. ## Links - Sign up: https://convertpilot.dudelemon.cloud/register - Live demo: https://convertpilot.dudelemon.cloud/demo - Shopify App Store: https://apps.shopify.com/convertpilot - Wix App Market: https://www.wix.com/app-market/chat-gpt-ai-agent - iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/convertpilot/id6777791506 - Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.convertpilot.mobile - Privacy: https://convertpilot.dudelemon.cloud/privacy - Terms: https://dudelemon.com/terms - Trust centre: https://trust.dudelemon.com - Parent company: https://dudelemon.com
